Gaza Kidney Patients Protest for Urgent Medical Access

(MENAFN) Scores of individuals suffering from kidney disease staged a demonstration on Saturday within the grounds of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip. The protestors called for permission to travel abroad to receive medical care, citing a severe shortage of medications and the ongoing impact of Israeli attacks.

According to a correspondent, many of the patients present showed visible signs of extreme fatigue. Several were confined to wheelchairs, lacking the strength to stand due to their deteriorating health conditions.

The demonstrators raised placards bearing messages that stressed the urgency of saving their lives and the lives of their children. They voiced chants urging global attention, appealing for intervention to end their hardship and enable access to treatment outside the region.

Throughout the protest, participants expressed their frustration through intense slogans, calling for the reopening of border crossings and the lifting of the Israeli blockade. They underscored that the ongoing circumstances pose a direct and serious threat to their survival.
