Iran Identifies Airstrike Victims Through Advanced Forensic Methods

(MENAFN) Iran has reported that 3,375 individuals killed in the recent US-Israeli airstrikes have been identified through scientific and specialized methods, according to the head of the country's Legal Medicine Organization. Abbas Masjedi Arani stated that the victims, who died between February 28 and April 7, included 2,875 men and 496 women, with the identities of the remaining casualties unspecified.

Among the deceased were also foreign nationals from countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, China, Iraq, and Lebanon, though specific numbers were not provided. The identification process was carried out using advanced forensic techniques by a state-affiliated organization.

The US and Israel initiated a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, resulting in the deaths of numerous high-ranking military officials, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

A two-week ceasefire was later brokered by Pakistan earlier this week.

In response, Tehran launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as military assets in Jordan, Iraq, and other Gulf nations, while also imposing restrictions on shipping through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic talks between the US and Iran, held in Islamabad, concluded on Saturday without a breakthrough.
