Israeli Attack Kills Palestinian Man in Deir Jari in Occupied West Bank
(MENAFN) According to reports, a Palestinian man was killed on Saturday during an incident involving Israeli forces in the town of Deir Jarir, located northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian health authorities stated that 23-year-old Ali Majed Hamadna died after being struck by gunfire during the confrontation. Medical officials reported that the bullet entered through his back and exited through his chest. He was initially transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
Local reports, citing municipal sources in Deir Jarir, say that armed individuals entered the town from the western side and opened fire on residents. It was also reported that Israeli forces entered the area during the incident, allegedly to provide protection for those involved in the attack.
According to statements from a Palestinian commission monitoring settlement-related activity, the incident is part of a broader escalation of violence across various parts of the occupied West Bank in recent days. The organization also reported that multiple towns and villages have been targeted, resulting in injuries to residents and damage to property and agricultural land.
The same reports indicate that the death of Hamadna brings the total number of Palestinians killed in similar incidents since the beginning of 2026 to 12.
