Hezbollah Launches Rockets Toward Northern Israel in Retaliation

(MENAFN) Hezbollah announced early Thursday that it launched rockets toward northern Israel in retaliation for recent attacks on Lebanon.

In a statement, the group said it targeted the Israeli settlement of Manara, citing Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Hezbollah added that its response would continue “until the US-Israeli aggression against our country and our people stops.”

Reports indicated that one missile was intercepted over the Upper Galilee after being launched from Lebanon following nine hours of calm. Air raid sirens were reportedly activated in the Galilee Panhandle after the launch.

These events followed the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, aimed at paving the way for a final resolution to a conflict initiated by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on February 28.

Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces conducted extensive airstrikes across Lebanon on Wednesday, resulting in at least 254 deaths and 1,165 injuries, according to Lebanese civil defense reports.

While Iranian and Pakistani officials stated that Lebanon was included in the agreement, Israel maintained that the ceasefire did not extend to the country.
