Iran Warns It May Exit US Ceasefire if Israel Continues Strikes on Lebanon

(MENAFN) Iran has indicated it could withdraw from a ceasefire agreement with the US if Israel continues to breach the terms through attacks on Lebanon, according to reports citing an informed Iranian source.

“Iran will withdraw from the agreement if violations of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime continue through attacks on Lebanon,” the source said.

The source noted that Tehran is closely evaluating the situation amid what it described as “continued Israeli breaches” linked to military strikes on Lebanon.

Under the proposed two-week ceasefire plan, the US had reportedly agreed to a halt to hostilities on all fronts, including operations against Lebanon’s “Islamic resistance.”

However, Israel has reportedly committed “clear violations of the ceasefire” since earlier Wednesday by conducting “brutal attacks” targeting Lebanese territory. The Israeli military stated it hit over 100 locations “within 10 minutes” across Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon in what was described as the “largest” coordinated strike since the current offensive began.

Since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, Israel has maintained air and ground operations in southern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since November 2024.
