(MENAFN) Thailand’s Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow confirmed on Wednesday that three crew members who went missing following an attack on a Thai vessel in the Strait of Hormuz last month have been declared dead.
The ship, Mayuree Naree, was struck near the stern on March 11 while sailing close to Oman amid escalating regional tensions.
During the incident, twenty crew members jumped overboard and were later rescued by Oman’s navy.
The Thai Foreign Ministry had previously reported that human remains were recovered aboard the vessel during a subsequent search operation.
