I am an Industry Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS. I have a masters by research on resource taxation in Australia, looking at the advocacy tactics of the mining and oil and gas sectors and their influence on public policy.
I am currently an Energy Finance Analyst at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analyst (IEEFA). I look at all issues relating to Australia's gas and LNG sector, including decommissioning as well as carbon capture and storage (CCS). I also monitor global trends in the energy sector impacting gas and oil.
I started at IEEFA in 2023. Prior to that I was a journalist of which 20 years were spent covering the energy and mining sectors. I have worked for Argus Media; the Financial Times in London; Sydney Morning Herald and Reuters in Sydney.

Co-author with Damien Giurco of The Future of Australia's Mineral Wealth – Leasing to Support an Aging Population; November 2011 paper was presented at The International Future Mining Conference held at November 22-23 2011 in Sydney. Published by The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (The AusIMM), Melbourne.
