Vietnam Elects Le Minh Hung as New PM for 2026-2031 Term


(MENAFN) Vietnam’s National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday afternoon unanimously approved Le Minh Hung as the country’s prime minister for the 2026-2031 term, marking a significant leadership transition.

The resolution received full backing, with all 495 legislators present at the first session of the 16th NA voting in favor, demonstrating strong political consensus.

In his remarks, Hung outlined his administration’s priorities, stating: "Our cabinet's priorities include building a modern, enabling and service-oriented government, achieving annual economic growth of at least 10 percent during 2026-2031, driven by innovation and digital transformation, investing in human development and social welfare, and ensuring the effective operation of the new two-tier local administration model." He emphasized that these goals would guide policy planning and implementation throughout his term.
