Fazlur Rehman Accuses Pakistani Leaders Of Being“Slaves Of The US”

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has accused Pakistani officials of being“slaves of the United States” and renewed his criticism of the government's policies, particularly the closure of trade routes with Afghanistan and India.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the Pakistani government is“serving US interests” and added:“Our rulers are America's slaves. America is standing behind Israel right now. They massacred the Palestinians.”

He noted that Pakistan has recently introduced laws modeled on British legislation, including in areas such as marriage.

“Although the British have left, their influence remains and their legal framework is still reflected in the policies imposed on the people,” he said.

The JUI-F leader also criticized the government for blocking trade routes with Afghanistan and India.

He said that while both countries have alternative trade corridors,“Pakistan has closed its own trade routes and is now telling people to reduce fuel consumption.”

He pointed out that despite government claims about oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, domestic fuel prices have not changed.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on officials to clarify whether these oil shipments were diverted to another country and, if they did reach Pakistan, why prices have not decreased.
