Hezbollah Strikes Israeli Troops Near Border

(MENAFN) Hezbollah announced on Thursday that it carried out multiple missile and artillery attacks targeting Israeli forces and infrastructure in northern Israel and border areas.

In separate statements, the group said it fired missiles at infrastructure in the Kiryat Ata area, east of Haifa. It also targeted gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the settlements of Metula and Malkia.

Hezbollah added that it shelled Israeli forces and vehicles at Jnijal Hill near the southern Lebanese town of Qantara, and carried out another missile strike on Israeli troops and vehicles in the Sadr area near Aita al-Shaab.

Later reports indicated that Hezbollah launched rocket barrages against soldiers in the settlements of Yir’on and Al-Malkiya, bringing the total number of attacks on Thursday to 12. The group also said its drones struck the settlement of Even Menachem in northern Israel.

Israel has responded with airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2. Lebanese authorities reported that nearly 1,318 people have been killed and 3,935 others injured during the Israeli assault.
