(MENAFN) A significant earthquake, measuring "7.3," shook the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu on Monday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The seismic event took place at approximately 0844 GMT, northeast of Luganville, which is recognized as the country’s second-largest city.
