Tehran Airport, Tabriz Facility Get Struck by US-Israeli Attacks
(MENAFN) According to reports, US-Israeli air raids struck major locations in Iran early Monday, including Mehrabad International Airport in the capital and a petrochemical facility in the northwestern city of Tabriz.
As indicated by reports, multiple areas across Tehran were hit during the strikes. Among the targeted locations were a branch of Iran’s National Bank and a cardboard manufacturing plant situated in the southern part of the city.
In a separate development, a residential neighborhood in northern Tehran was also impacted, with reports stating that several individuals were injured as a result.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that a petrochemical production unit in Tabriz was among the sites struck. Majid Farshi, head of crisis management in East Azerbaijan province, said emergency and rescue teams were actively working at the scene.
He noted that the situation had been contained and confirmed that no dangerous or toxic substances had been released following the attack.
The strikes come amid continuing hostilities since Feb. 28, when the United States and Israel began military operations against Iran. According to reports, the conflict has led to more than 1,340 deaths, including Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as locations in Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf states hosting US military bases. These exchanges have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and broader disruptions to global markets and aviation.
