Iran Warns US Against Ground Attack, Cites Fifteen-Point Strategy
(MENAFN) Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, accused the United States on Sunday of attempting to achieve its war objectives through a 15-point plan after failing to do so by military means. He warned that any ground attack on Iran would be met with a “decisive” response.
Writing on Telegram, Qalibaf said the U.S. is “openly calling for negotiations while secretly planning a ground attack.” He emphasized that Iranian forces are fully prepared for any such operation, vowing a “decisive response” to any aggression.
“These days, different words and statements are heard from enemy officials about negotiations. America is expressing its desires and declaring what it has not achieved in war as a 15-point list and seeking it in diplomacy,” he added.
On Wednesday, Iran rejected a 15-point U.S. proposal to end the war, insisting that any ceasefire would occur only on Tehran’s terms and timeline. State television, citing an Iranian official, reported that Tehran has outlined five conditions for ending the conflict, including a full stop to “aggression and assassinations.”
These developments come amid reports of U.S. plans for a potential ground assault on Iran, as thousands of American troops are deployed across the Middle East, pending a decision by President Donald Trump.
Since February 28, U.S. and Israeli forces have carried out airstrikes on Iran, reportedly killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting U.S. military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
