Ukraine Secures Long-Term Fuel Supplies

(MENAFN) Ukraine’s monthly demand for diesel and gasoline stands at roughly 700,000 tons, with yearly consumption surpassing 7 million tons, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday.

During a virtual briefing with reporters, Zelenskyy emphasized that the country’s armed forces continue to receive full fuel provisions without disruption.

“As of today, the army is fully supplied. The army is our priority,” he said.

He further explained that authorities have a precise grasp of fuel requirements. “We clearly understand the volumes. Total supplies of diesel and gasoline for the entire country, including the army, amount to about 700,000 tonnes per month. We roughly estimate annual volumes at 7.2 to 7.4 million tonnes,” he added, as reported by a news agency.

Zelenskyy also revealed that he managed to arrange diesel deliveries sufficient for at least one year during his latest trip to the Middle East.

“Yesterday, I agreed on diesel for at least a year. That’s it. Then it’s a matter for our company and local companies,” he said, as cited by a media outlet.

In addition to energy arrangements, the president noted that his Gulf visit resulted in defense-related agreements with Qatar and Saudi Arabia, alongside plans to deepen military collaboration with the United Arab Emirates.
