Trump Shares Claim on Ukrainian Effort to Fund Biden Campaign

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump shared a link to a news report claiming that the Ukrainian government was involved in a scheme to finance Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign.

According to reports, the alleged plan would have used US taxpayer funds intended for a USAID project in Ukraine. The information comes from a recently declassified intelligence report obtained by media sources.

The purported scheme, dating back to late 2022, could have involved “hundreds of millions of dollars,” as indicated in the report. US intelligence reportedly uncovered the plot by intercepting communications from Ukrainian officials.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is said to have recently reviewed the intercepted information and requested a summary of all details related to the case. According to the declassified report, “The Ukrainian Government and unspecified US Government personnel, through USAID in Kiev, reportedly developed a plan that would provide hundreds of millions of US taxpayer dollars to fund an infrastructure project for Ukraine that would be used as a cover to send approximately 90% of funds allocated to the DNC to fund Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.”

The plan anticipated that the project would ultimately be “disapproved as unnecessary,” but only after the funds, described as “difficult to track” and “impossible to return,” had been diverted.

It remains unclear whether Kiev actually carried out the plan. Neither the DNI office nor Tulsi Gabbard provided comments, and Trump did not offer any statement regarding the link he shared.
