The remarks were made during the annual forum of the Saudi sovereign wealth fund in Miami, as tensions rise following US-Israeli operations in Iran that prompted retaliatory strikes affecting Saudi facilities.

Trump also reflected on his relationship with 90-year-old King Salman, describing their personal bond during previous visits. He recalled a moment when the king grabbed his arm, interpreting it as a sign of affection and respect. “I… love the king of Saudi Arabia. What a man he is. When I was there, we bonded,” he said, adding that both the king and his son, Mohammed bin Salman, continue to hold him in high regard.

Regarding the crown prince, Trump noted that Mohammed bin Salman had once described the US as “a dead country” just a year ago, but now views it as “the hottest country anywhere in the world,” signaling a shift in perception and strengthening bilateral ties.
