Haqqani Pledges Support For Media, Cultural Activities

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Minister of Information and Culture Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani says his ministry is committed to supporting the media and promoting cultural activities.

He made the remarks at a gathering in a central Logar province on Friday.

Haqqani said the main objectives of his visit were to assess cultural and artistic activities, review the preservation of historical sites, follow up on the establishment of a Jihadi Museum and improve public access to information and media support.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Information of Culture (MoIC) remains committed to supporting media and cultural initiatives and efforts were underway to resolve existing challenges in the province.

Meanwhile, Logar's deputy governor Mawlawi Mohammad Anwar Dinparwar told the meeting that cultural and artistic activities in the province had expanded compared with previous years.

He said local officials were working to address challenges faced by media and journalists.

Information and Culture Director Mawlawi Faizullah Johari briefed on information services, cultural initiatives, completed activities, existing challenges, recommendations and ongoing projects.

He said Logar has achieved significant progress in media and cultural activities and stressed the need for continued support for media and journalists.
