Türkiye Recognized as ‘Success Story’ in Education at UNESCO

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s achievements in education were spotlighted as a model of success at a UNESCO meeting in Paris, where officials noted the country demonstrates how consistent systems and long-term strategies can produce tangible results, according to reports.

The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hosted the launch of its 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report at its headquarters on March 25.

Deputy Education Minister Muhammet Bilal Macit represented Türkiye on a panel titled *Access and Equity in Education*, highlighting the country’s progress over the past 23 years.

He shared examples of services, policies, and reforms designed to expand access to education nationwide.

During the event, Türkiye’s education initiatives were described as a “bright example” of how coherent and sustainable systems can drive measurable improvements. Several speakers referred to the country’s experience as a “success story.”

Andreas Schleicher, education director at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), emphasized global challenges in education, noting that although ambitious targets have been set, the world is still far from achieving them as 2030 approaches.

He added that efforts by countries such as Türkiye demonstrate that meaningful progress remains possible.
