Bangladeshi Minister Highlights Lessons from Türkiye’s People-Centered Governance

(MENAFN) Bangladesh has “a lot to learn” from Türkiye’s model of people-centric governance, said Bangladesh’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon during an event in Istanbul on Thursday commemorating Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day, according to reports.

Swapon addressed members of the Bangladeshi community in Türkiye, noting the importance of adopting governance that prioritizes citizens’ needs.

“The new government will work for building a people-centric governance and ‘in this context, we have a lot to learn’ from Türkiye,” he said.

Swapon is in Istanbul to participate in the two-day Stratcom Summit, which began Friday.

The minister encouraged the Bangladeshi diaspora to “invest in Bangladesh, including in sectors such as education and economy.”

He also highlighted aspects of Bangladesh-Türkiye relations, expressing hope that bilateral ties would grow stronger and evolve into a more multidimensional partnership under the new government, which was formed by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman following last month’s landslide election victory.
