Israel Vows to Maintain Operations Against Hezbollah
(MENAFN) Israeli officials have asserted that operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon will continue, regardless of any potential agreements with Iran, according to reports on Wednesday.
An unnamed security source said the country is focused on “completely sever[ing] the operational and political link between Iran and Hezbollah.”
“The Israeli political leadership is determined to continue its campaign in Lebanon against Hezbollah until its objectives are achieved, regardless of any potential arrangements with the extremist regime in Tehran,” the source added.
The source further warned: “The Iranians are trying to create a formula that would allow continued rocket fire toward Israel if the Israeli army does not stop fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon. We will not allow this linkage.”
The statements come amid media reports that Washington may announce a ceasefire with Tehran in the coming days, raising Israeli concerns that US negotiations could temporarily limit military actions against Hezbollah.
