Rockets from Lebanon Gets Intercepted While Heading to Israel

(MENAFN) Several rockets launched from Lebanon toward central Israel were intercepted on Thursday, according to reports.

Authorities detected and neutralized six projectiles, and emergency teams were dispatched to assess the areas from which the rockets had been fired.

Hezbollah later claimed responsibility, stating it had targeted Israeli military sites in Tel Aviv using “precision missiles.” The group said the strikes hit the Kirya complex, home to Israel’s Defense Ministry, and the Dolphin barracks, which houses the military intelligence division.

Since March 2, Israel has conducted airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon following cross-border attacks by the Iran-backed Hezbollah. Lebanese authorities report at least 1,094 fatalities and 3,119 injuries from Israeli operations.

The flare-up coincides with a broader joint US-Israeli campaign against Iran, which has killed over 1,340 people since February 28. In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military forces.
