Falling Debris from Air Defenses Causes Power Outages Across Kuwait

(MENAFN) Kuwait reported early Tuesday that seven overhead power transmission lines have gone out of service in multiple areas of the country due to falling debris from air defense interception activities.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the damage caused partial power outages in some regions. Spokeswoman Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat stated on the social media platform X that efforts are ongoing to restore electricity as quickly as possible.

The ministry added that specialized technical teams will begin repairs once the sites are secured in coordination with security authorities. They will assess the damage and carry out restoration work according to the highest safety and security standards.

Jawhar Hayat emphasized that emergency teams are actively addressing issues affecting the electrical grid to maintain continuous service. She also urged citizens and residents to “verify information and rely only on official sources,” assuring that updates will be provided as the situation develops.
