Heather Douglas AM is a Professor at the Melbourne Law School, The University of Melbourne and the Deputy Director (Interdisciplinary and Translation) and Chief Investigator on the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW - CE230100004). Heather has a PhD from Melbourne Law School, an LLM from QUT, and an LLB and BA from Monash University. She was an Australian Research Council Future Fellow. Heather researches and teaches in criminal law and procedure and on legal responses to domestic and family violence. She has previously worked as a criminal lawyer. She co-ordinates the National Domestic and Family Violence Bench Book. Heather is an elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. In 2022 Heather was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for her services to tertiary education and to the community.
