Qatar Confirms Fires at Ras Laffan Contained After Missile Strike

(MENAFN) Qatar announced on Thursday that all fires at Ras Laffan Industrial City, located about 80 kilometers north of Doha, have been fully brought under control following missile attacks, with no casualties reported.

According to reports, civil defense teams successfully extinguished the fires, while security and containment measures remain ongoing at the site. Authorities have also deployed specialized explosive disposal units to ensure the area is secure.

Reports indicate that several liquefied natural gas facilities in Ras Laffan were struck overnight, leading to fires and considerable structural damage.

The incident comes amid escalating regional tensions following US-Israeli military operations against Iran that began on February 28, which have reportedly resulted in around 1,300 deaths, including senior figures. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military forces.
