- Full Professor, Department of Theological Studies, Concordia University
I am Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Theological Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. My teaching and scholarship focus on Global Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity, Religion and Politics, Evangelicalism, and the Reception of the Bible. I am also a co-host of the Spirit, State, and Society bi-monthly podcast, discussing how Global Pentecostal and Charismatic movements intersect with politics, culture, and society.
At Concordia, I was named“Newsmaker of the Week” four times and“Newsmaker of the Month” on four different occasions, reflecting my commitment to engaging with current issues. In recognition of my efforts to impact public discourse, I was also the recipient of the President's“Opinion Leader of the Year” award in 2016, the "Expert Communicator of the Year" award in 2024, and the Dean's Faculty of Arts and Science "Excellence in Community Outreach and Public Engagement" award in 2025.
