Bahrain Intercepts Over Hundred Missiles, Drones Amid Ongoing Iran’s War

(MENAFN) The Bahrain Defense Force reported Wednesday that its air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 130 missiles and 234 drones since attacks allegedly launched by Iran began, according to statements from the military.

The armed forces said that air defenses are “continuing to confront successive waves of Iranian attacks” and urged citizens to exercise extreme caution, avoid damaged areas or suspicious objects, and refrain from photographing military operations or debris. They emphasized that information should be obtained only from official sources and media outlets to stay updated on alerts and safety instructions.

The statement also highlighted that targeting civilian infrastructure and private property with ballistic missiles and drones constitutes “a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter,” warning that such attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.

The escalation in the region continues as Israel and the U.S. have carried out joint operations against Iran since Feb. 28, reportedly causing around 1,300 deaths, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes on Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting U.S. forces, resulting in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
