Bahrain Alerts Residents to Seek Shelter as Regional Tensions Rise
(MENAFN) Bahrain on Monday urged residents to “head to the nearest safe place” after sirens were sounded amid growing regional tensions, according to reports.
“Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the Interior Ministry stated on the social media platform X.
Reports say the alert comes amid escalating hostilities following joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran that began on Feb. 28, which have reportedly killed around 1,300 people, including the country’s then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to reports, Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq and several Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
