In Dhurandhar, Hawa Hawa plays during Sanjay Dutt's entry as SP Chaudhary Aslam. The song amplified the impact of his stylish confrontation with drug smugglers in the desert, making the sequence a highlight of the film and trending on social media.

Director Aditya Dhar included several classic songs in the movie, like Na Toh Karwan Ki Talash Hai from Barsaat Ki Raat, Rambha Ho by Usha Uthup, and Piya Tu Ab To Aaja from Caravan, blending nostalgia with modern storytelling.

Dhurandhar follows an Indian spy infiltrating crime and politics in Pakistan, referencing real events like the 1999 IC-814 hijack, 2001 Parliament attack, and 2008 Mumbai attacks. It's the first installment of a planned two-film spy thriller series.
