James Andrew Armitage
- Professor of Optometry and Optometry Course Director, Deakin University
I am a practicing optometrist, active researcher and Professor of Optometry in the Deakin Optometry program. I have enjoyed a diverse academic career enabled by PhD and postdoctoral studies that trained me in very disparate areas of health including electrophysiological function of the eye, the role of maternal diet and the controllers of fetal development, vascular and metabolic health and autonomic nerve activity.
I encourage my patients to take good care of their eyes and body; appreciating that our eyes offer a unique window into our systemic health.
