Patrick Masters
- Lecturer, University of Portsmouth
I have completed my PhD at the University of Portsmouth, where I work as a lecturer in film studies. I am the author of the book - 'The Knights Templar in Popular Culture', published by McFarland. The book examines the representation of the Knights Templar in popular culture from the 13th to the 21st century, analysing Templar depictions in film, literature, computer games and tourism. My latest work on the Knights Templar will be published in May 2025 via the History Press - title "The Knights Templar: Crusade, Myth & Hollywood. This book examines the 900-year story of the Templars, looking at how history has created the myth and how those myths resonate within popular culture.
