Farage Warns UK Lacks Capacity for Direct Military Action Abroad
(MENAFN) Nigel Farage, the UK’s far-right leader, stated that the nation should avoid becoming directly engaged in “another foreign war," emphasizing that the country does not possess the military strength to do so.
Addressing a Reform UK press briefing on Tuesday, Farage remarked that Britain currently lacks the naval resources necessary to participate in operations alongside the United States and Israel.
“We cannot get involved directly in another foreign war. We don’t have a navy,” he asserted.
Farage further questioned the UK’s capability to safeguard its overseas military installations, citing the British base in Cyprus. “We can’t even defend our own military base in Cyprus,” he commented.
“Given that we can’t even send a Royal Naval vessel to defend British sovereign territory and an RAF base, we certainly don’t have the capability to offer anything of any value to the Americans or the Israelis,” he added.
He labeled the condition of the Royal Navy as a "catastrophe."
In addition, Farage criticized the administration’s handling of the crisis in Iran, pointing out that evacuation measures have been limited.
“I think so far the government has had one charter plane, and even that broke down and was 24 hours late,” he noted.
