Yemen Urges Houthis to Avoid Military Actions Linked to Iran
(MENAFN) Yemen’s Prime Minister Shaye Al-Zindani issued a warning to the Houthi movement on Sunday, urging them not to participate in any military operations that could further Iran’s objectives. This statement follows reports from Israeli media that the Israeli army had observed movements of launch platforms within Yemeni territory.
Al-Zindani delivered his comments during an urgent ministerial session of the Arab League conducted via videoconference, which focused on discussing recent developments in the region.
In his address, Al-Zindani cautioned the Houthis about the potential fallout of “engaging in any military adventures serving the Iranian agenda,” emphasizing that such acts could carry significant consequences.
He further warned ''against using Yemeni territory as a platform to target neighboring countries or international interests,'' noting that such behavior constitutes “a direct threat to the security of Yemen and its people, as well as to regional security and stability.”
Additionally, Al-Zindani reiterated Yemen’s refusal to accept any rationalizations or excuses offered by the Iranian government for attacks on Arab nations.
He highlighted the importance of Iran honoring its international responsibilities and urged Tehran to cease escalation measures and avoid meddling in the domestic affairs of Arab states by supporting militias and armed factions.
Finally, he underscored that the challenges confronting the Arab world demand enhanced collaboration and unified stances, which would bolster the collective capability of Arab nations to address these threats effectively.
