US Conducts Joint Strike in Ecuador Targeting Alleged Narco-Terror Network

(MENAFN) The United States military carried out a precise operation on Friday against an alleged narco-terrorist network in Ecuador, working alongside Ecuadorian security forces in a coordinated effort, according to official reports.

Authorities indicated that the operation, conducted at Ecuador’s request, included “lethal kinetic operations” aimed at suspected designated terrorist groups active within the country.

“#SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan directed the joint force to support Ecuadorian forces conducting lethal kinetic operations against Designated Terrorist Organizations within Ecuador,” a statement noted.

Gen. Donovan highlighted that the mission demonstrated strong collaboration between the United States and Ecuador in addressing narco-terrorism in the region.

“I congratulate our joint forces and the Ecuadorian armed forces for the successful operation against narco-terrorists in Ecuador,” Donovan said in a statement. “This collaborative and decisive action is a strategic success for all nations in the Western Hemisphere committed to disrupting and defeating narco-terrorism.”

A Pentagon spokesperson added that the operation was designed to dismantle what was described as a narco-terrorist supply network.

“The War Department is uniting partners across the Western Hemisphere to detect, disrupt and destroy designated terrorist organizations that fuel violence and corruption,” the spokesperson said.
