Qatar Says It Foils Two IRGC-Linked Spy Cells Operating Domestically

(MENAFN) Qatar announced late Tuesday that authorities have dismantled two operational cells connected to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) within the country.

According to reports, state security units arrested ten individuals after extensive surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts. Seven of the suspects were allegedly involved in espionage activities aimed at collecting information on “vital and military facilities,” while three others were reportedly preparing to conduct sabotage operations and had received training in operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Authorities also seized the locations and coordinates of sensitive sites, along with communication devices and technological equipment. Citizens were urged to remain alert and report any suspicious behavior to the proper authorities, as stated by reports.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions following large-scale US and Israeli strikes on Iran on Saturday, which reportedly killed nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top military officials. Tehran has responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military assets.
