Saudi Arabia Intercepts Nine Drones Entering Its Airspace

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry announced early Wednesday that its forces brought down nine unmanned aerial vehicles after they crossed into the kingdom’s airspace.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, owned by a US-based company, the ministry said the drones were promptly intercepted and destroyed upon detection.

The incident comes as tensions continue to surge across the Middle East following large-scale US and Israeli strikes on Iran that began Saturday. The attacks left nearly 800 people dead, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior military commanders.

In response, Tehran has carried out drone and missile attacks directed at Israel and at Gulf nations hosting American military assets, further intensifying instability throughout the region.
