Carolyn Nickson

Associate Professor Carolyn Nickson is a cancer epidemiologist originally trained in pure mathematics, recognised for her expertise in cancer control policy and evaluation and her novel and multidisciplinary approaches to solving problems in this domain.
She leads the Breast Cancer research team at the Cancer Elimination Collaboration at the University of Sydney, and the ABACUS group at the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, The University of Melbourne.
Her multidisciplinary research program includes epidemiological studies, clinical and cost effectiveness modelling, policy analysis, qualitative research and stakeholder engagement. She and her team enjoy collaborating with experts from many domains to help reduce the burden of breast cancer in Australia and globally.
