- Research Associate in Administrative Data Research Wales, Cardiff University
I am a Research Associate in the Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research and Data (WISERD). I work with Administrative Data Research (ADR) Wales to explore educational outcomes for young people, particularly around attainment, attendance, exclusion and subject choice.
My research interests centre around young people's educational experiences and outcomes. In particular, how different factors shape young people's attainment, interest, subject choice, and sense of opportunity.
I completed my PhD in Physics Education at Cardiff University where I evaluated interventions to improve secondary school pupils' engagement with the physics curriculum. Since then, I have continued to work at Cardiff University on various education projects of both national and international scale. This has included projects designed to improve pupils' opportunities in and access to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) careers, and research into the training and development of healthcare professionals.
