Fresh Water Supply System Launched in Western Afghanistan

(MENAFN) A new water supply system has been launched in Ghor province in western Afghanistan following the completion of its construction, according to reports from local authorities.

The project, costing over 26.4 million Afghanis (more than 423,000 USD), is expected to provide clean water to approximately 1,022 families in the provincial capital, Firoz Koah, as well as surrounding districts.

Construction has also recently begun on six additional water supply networks in eastern provinces, including Ghazni and Paktia, according to reports.

Afghanistan has struggled with ongoing drought in recent years, leaving residents in major cities, including Kabul, facing severe water shortages. These initiatives aim to ease the strain on affected communities and enhance public health.
