TRNC National Security Council Reviews Escalating US-Israel-Iran Conflict

(MENAFN) The National Security Council of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) met under President Tufan Erhurman to assess regional developments amid the joint US-Israeli attack on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory strikes on their assets in the Middle East.

According to a statement from the TRNC Presidency, the discussions focused on the consequences of the large-scale strikes against Iran and evaluated potential impacts on the TRNC under different scenarios. The meeting included senior officials such as the parliament speaker, premier, foreign and interior ministers, the commander of security forces, the opposition leader, and the head of the civil defense organization.

The US and Israel launched a major offensive on Iran on Saturday, killing several senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has carried out drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and other regional sites hosting US military assets, further escalating tensions across the Middle East.
