New Strikes Leave Residents Of Frontline Regions Without Power, Ukrenergo Says

"As a result of attacks on the energy infrastructure of frontline and border regions with Russia, there are new power outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions as of this morning. Where security conditions allow, emergency repair work is already underway," the report said.

Due to the consequences of previous massive attacks on the energy sector, some regions are implementing power restriction schedules for industry and hourly power outage schedules for other user categories.

As of 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, electricity consumption was 1.1% above the maximum on the previous weekday, Friday, February 27. This is due to fewer power outages.

“In regions where hourly blackouts are in effect today, there is still a need for energy saving. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances. If possible, move energy-intensive processes to nighttime hours after 10 p.m.,” the company said.

As reported, the government has changed its approach to power cuts for users connected to distributed generation. If at least 80% of customers on a single line are supplied with electricity from distributed generation, hourly power cut schedules will not apply to such lines.
