Trump Claims US Can Fight War ‘Forever’ with Vast Ammunition Stockpiles
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump claimed that the United States is capable of waging a war “forever” thanks to its “virtually unlimited” ammunition reserves.
Military analysts have highlighted munitions availability—particularly air defense missiles—as a potential constraint in the ongoing US-Israeli operation aimed at toppling the Iranian leadership.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump dismissed such concerns, stating: “Wars can be fought ‘forever,’ and very successfully, using just these supplies (which are better than other countries finest arms!).” He also suggested that weapons stockpiled in other nations could be redirected for Pentagon use.
The US-Israeli campaign began on Saturday with a decapitation strike that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior officials, accompanied by calls for an uprising in Iran. Trump said the campaign is surpassing expectations and predicted it would last only a few weeks. Iranian officials, however, have reportedly prepared for a protracted conflict by stockpiling long-range weapons in underground storage.
Although the exact depth of US and Israeli munitions remains classified, military experts believe both countries are rapidly using advanced weapons, including interceptors for THAAD, Patriot, and Arrow-3 air defense systems, as well as sea-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles.
“Eventually it boils down to numbers,” Jonathan Conricus, a former Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, explained. “How many interceptors will we have versus how much launchers will they be able to field and fire.”
Trump asserted that US stockpiles are strong partly because he suspended direct arms supplies to Ukraine, though weapons continue to reach Ukraine under a system where European NATO members now bear the costs.
