Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reach Record High in 2025

The data was released by the US-based climate organization Climate TRACE, which uses artificial intelligence, satellite imagery, and remote sensing to track emissions in near real-time. Their database covers roughly 744 million facilities across 10 major sectors and 64 sub-sectors, spanning every country and more than 9,000 cities worldwide.
According to Climate TRACE, global emissions rose by 0.5% compared to 2024, an increase of 303.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, setting a new unprecedented high.
