Government Communications Office Issues Fact Check On Reports Shared Online
Doha, Qatar: The Government Communications Office (GCO) has shared another fact check report debunking false information circulating on social media regarding the current events in the country.
In a infograph, GCO picked two false piece of misinformation being widely shared online.
It stated that reports of shortage in drinking water as Qatar's potable water tanks were attacked are false.
The Office explained that the incident refers to a drone targeting a water tank belonging to a power plan in Mesaieed.

Another fake news that it reported about was that the Qatar's stock of Patriot interceptor missiles will last four days at the current rate of use.
The GCO clarified that Qatar Armed Forces have proven they have the full capability and readiness to protect the nation and respond decisively to any external threat.
In a previous update, shared yesterday, March 2, 2026, the office has debunked a set of false reports shared online.
The Government Communications Office urged general public to rely solely on official sources for information and to refrain from circulating rumors.
