Germany Confirms It Won’t Take Part in Military Strikes on Iran

(MENAFN) Germany stated on Monday that it will not take part in military strikes against Iran, even as it supports the objectives of the US and Israel to neutralize Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.

Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul noted that Berlin is coordinating its stance closely with European partners, including the UK and France, while emphasizing that each nation will make its own decisions regarding defensive military actions.

“The UK has concluded that it will make military bases available to the Americans. We don't have any bases there, we also don't have the corresponding military resources,” Wadephul told public broadcaster Deutschlandfunk. “And the German government definitely has no intention of participating in any way,” he added.

The three European powers, commonly known as the E3 countries, issued a joint statement on Sunday evening declaring their readiness to take "necessary and proportionate defensive measures" aimed at eliminating Iran’s ability to launch missiles and drones at their origin.
