Lebanese PM Condemns Southern Rocket Fire
(MENAFN) Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Monday described rocket launches from southern Lebanon as an “irresponsible and suspicious act” that threatens national security and provides Israel with a pretext for further attacks.
Salam warned that whoever is behind the launches is endangering Lebanon’s safety and stability. He added that the country “will not allow the country to be dragged into new adventures” and pledged that authorities will take all necessary steps to identify the perpetrators and protect the Lebanese population.
His remarks followed Hezbollah’s claim of responsibility for firing rockets and drones from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel, which the group said targeted an Israeli missile defense site near Haifa.
