Kuwait Reports Shooting Down Multiple Drones

(MENAFN) Kuwait's air defenses successfully shot down multiple hostile aerial targets in the early hours of Monday, with the country's Defense Ministry declaring the interceptions a demonstration of "efficiency and capability" in safeguarding national airspace.

The ministry's official spokesperson confirmed that the targets were detected and engaged within the operational zone over central Kuwait, describing the response as part of the armed forces' sustained readiness to defend the nation's skies.

"No casualties were recorded," the spokesperson emphasized, stressing that military forces remain on heightened alert.

A separate official statement confirmed that at least one drone had been intercepted within Kuwaiti airspace, with the ministry disclosing that "the hostile air attacks were intercepted near the Salwa and Rumaithiya areas without any casualties."

The statement further affirmed that "the armed forces continue to carry out their duties and address any potential developments, ensuring the security and stability of the country."

According to Arab media reports, air raid sirens rang out across Kuwait during the incident, triggering widespread alerts as military units mobilized to counter the incoming threat.

The interceptions come amid a sweeping wave of Iranian retaliatory drone and missile strikes battering Gulf nations in response to the ongoing joint US-Israeli military campaign against Tehran, now in its third consecutive day of operations.
