Tehran Hospital Hit by US-Israeli Strikes

(MENAFN) US-Israeli airstrikes struck Gandhi Hospital in northern Tehran on Sunday, Iranian state media reported, as the conflict between the two nations entered a devastating new phase targeting civilian infrastructure.

State television footage revealed shattered windows and visible structural damage along sections of the hospital's exterior walls. In harrowing scenes broadcast nationwide, nurses were filmed rushing newborns out of the facility in urgent attempts to relocate the infants to safer medical centers.

In the immediate aftermath, security forces tightened their perimeter around the hospital as medical personnel conducted systematic damage assessments throughout the building's interior.

Hours before the hospital footage emerged, the Iranian Red Crescent Society had already released images indicating that its central headquarters and multiple hospital facilities had sustained damage in the wave of strikes.

The assault follows a broader US-Israeli offensive launched Saturday that killed several of Iran's most senior leaders — among them Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran swiftly retaliated, unleashing coordinated drone and missile salvos against Israeli territory, American assets, and targets across multiple Gulf states.

The two nations have clashed before. A comparable US-Israeli strike campaign against Iran last June ignited a 12-day armed conflict that only ended after an internationally brokered ceasefire halted the hostilities.
