Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Hold Phone Talks on Regional Situation

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan holds a phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to review the latest developments in the region, according to statements cited by reports from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

During the call, Erdogan expresses concern that ongoing conflicts could have “severe repercussions in terms of regional and global security unless necessary intervention is made.”

He highlights that Türkiye and Saudi Arabia are conducting “significant works” to resolve disputes through dialogue and emphasizes that giving diplomacy a chance remains the “most rational way.”

Erdogan also conveys his good wishes to Saudi Arabia in the wake of recent attacks on the kingdom.

The discussion comes amid escalating tensions following a US and Israeli strike on Iran on Saturday, which killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran launches a series of drone and missile strikes targeting several Gulf countries.
