Hezbollah Reports Attacks on Israeli Missile Defense South of Haifa

(MENAFN) The Lebanese movement Hezbollah declares on Monday that it launches a series of rockets along with drones from southern Lebanon, aiming at an Israeli missile defense position located south of the city of Haifa, according to statements cited by reports.

In an official statement, the group says the strike focuses on the Mishmar HaCarmel air defense site and takes place shortly after midnight.

Hezbollah characterizes the assault as a “legitimate defensive response,” asserting that ongoing Israeli attacks and targeted killings warrant retaliation. It calls on relevant authorities to put an end to what it describes as US-Israeli aggression directed against it.

The organization further states that the operation comes in response to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, adding that continued Israeli strikes and assassinations justify its actions. It also urges those concerned to stop US-Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
