Lebanese Prime Minister Condemns Rocket Fire from Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam states on Monday that rockets fired from the country’s southern region constitute an “irresponsible and suspicious act” that jeopardizes national security and provide Israel with justification to persist in its assaults, according to statements cited by reports.

He emphasizes that regardless of the party responsible, such actions pose a serious threat to Lebanon’s stability and overall safety.

The prime minister further declares that Lebanon “will not allow the country to be dragged into new adventures,” stressing that officials will implement all required measures to uncover those behind the launches and safeguard the Lebanese population.

His comments follow an earlier announcement by Hezbollah claiming responsibility for firing rockets and deploying drones from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel. The group says the operation aims at an Israeli missile defense installation located near the city of Haifa.
